Using a high-speed, fast-cutting power tool cut-off machine could be risky and dangerous. It is important to fully know your tool first before you use it. So keep and observe the following safety precautions before using your Stihl Cutquik Saw.
8 1 4 Saw Blade
1. Stop the engine before putting it down or before carrying it.
Carrying the handheld cut-off machine while the engine is running is extremely dangerous. Let it slow down for a short while after the trigger is released. Always make sure to stop the engine first before you change position or do anything in a proper position. Grip the front handle and place the muffler at the side away from the body.
2. Give handles a hand.
To securely hold your handheld saw, keep it clean and dry, remove excess dusts, and wipe away spilled oil and fuel. Also check the fuel leakage and keep the fuel filler cap properly tightened.
3. A man for a tool.
Stihl Cutquick Saw is a one-person tool. Do not allow other person to be near during operation without assistance. Maintain good balance and secure footing position. Ensure that you see clearly the object you are cutting and the ground and operate it under good visibility and during daylight.
4. Hold with two hands
Never use the cut-off saw with one hand. Hold it firmly with both hands while it's running. Place your left hand on the front handle and your right hand on the rear handle on the throttle trigger. For left-handed operators, do it vice versa. Avoid cutting with the upper quadrant.
5. Keep away from flammable materials.
Cutting metals produce sparks that can burn or cause clothing to catch fire. Always keep away the sparks away from you. Do not operate on any flammable place even flammable surfaces like wood or tar paper. Do not cut pipe, drum or other containers without checking what's inside. Make sure that it does not contain flammable substance. When cutting in wet, do not allow water to sludge to contact the engine and electric wires. Shut-off the engine before the wheel stops.
6. Check the blades
Broken blades may shatter and can cause serious or fatal injury. Always check it before and after use. Make sure it is undamaged and in good condition. If you see some cracks or breaks, fit a new guard before further use. Protect the cutting wheel from hitting the ground or any objects.
7. Position your cut properly.
It is important to know the exact direction of your cut before putting the saw at work. The blades are constructed for circular pressure only not for lateral pressure. Hold it firmly steady and do not change the direction of your cut during operation -your blades will break.
8. Do not push to the limit.
Do not exceed the maximum operating speed marked on the wheel. Also do not cut any material for which the abrasive blade is not allowed.
9. Use authorized accessories.
Never use chipped abrasive wheels, circular saw blades, carbide tipped blades, rescue blades or wood cutting blades, toothed blades or any nature blade replaced for a cut-off machine. Only use authorized cutting attachments and accessories made by Stihl.
10. When in doubt, don't.
Prevention is better than cure. If you are unsure about what you are planning to do, feel free to ask the customer service or check the manual.

The 5680-01 SKILSAW has a 14-amp, 2.5-horsepower motor that supplies ample strength for ripping through all varieties of wood, while the 7-1/4-inch 24-tooth carbide blade provides the cutting capacity to tackle a variety of projects, including building decks, fencing, sheds, or wooden furniture. The 5680-01 is also 1/2 of a pound lighter and 15% faster than its predecessor (5750-01), reducing user fatigue while increasing efficiency. And the 1 Beam Laser Cut Line™ helps the user make accurate cut lines.
The 5680-01 SKILSAW possesses many innovative safety features including a patented Anti Snag lower guard, which reduces hang-ups in materials when making narrow cutoffs.
